Dean William Sulpy, age 65, of Glen Gardner, NJ passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at home.
He was born on November 24, 1958 in Orange, NJ. He spent his early childhood in Livingston, NJ and lived in Oldwick, NJ for many years before moving to Glen Gardner, NJ ten years ago.
He was the son of the late Frank Lyons and Edna Miriam Taylor Sulpy.
Dean’s professional career was spent as a Funeral Director, serving families in the community that he grew up in and loved. He graduated form Mercer County Community College in West Windsor Township, NJ and worked at Coughlin Funeral Home in Califon, NJ until their closure in 2022. Dean was a consummate professional who loved his career.
He was a longtime member of Tri-County Funeral Director’s Association where he was currently serving as Treasurer.
Dean was also an active member of the Whitehouse United Methodist Church in Whitehouse Station, NJ. He adored his Pastor and the entire congregation.
Dean was passionate about racing as he enjoyed racing years ago at the Flemington Racetrack. He also loved playing the guitar and frequently played during Sunday service at his church. Dean was very involved with mission work with his church and looked forward to his yearly trips to West Virginia. He also enjoyed volunteering with River of Life Presbyterian Church in Phillipsburg every Thanksgiving where he loved carving the turkey and serving Thanksgiving dinner.
Survivors include his son; David Sulpy and his wife Brittany of Glen Gardner, NJ. Three siblings; Dale Sulpy and his wife Maria of Caldwell, NJ, Donna O’Connor and her husband Liam of Redmond, WA and Dawn Sella and her husband Tom of Washington, NJ. Twelve nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one beloved niece; Megan Sella.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be Friday, March 8, 2024 at 10am. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Fairmount Rural Cemetery in Tewksbury Twp., NJ.
