Everette Eugene Nelson

Everette Eugene Nelson, age 75, of Freehold, NJ passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Lebanon, NJ.

He was born on July 3, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY.  He spent most of his life in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Freehold, NJ three years ago.

He was the son of the late Harold Christopher and Irene Margaret Whitehorne Nelson.

His beloved wife, Patricia Theresa Gredzinski Nelson, passed away in 2004 after 16 years of marriage.

Everette retired after working as a Chiropractor during his career. He operated his practice in Westwood, NJ until his retirement.  

Everette had many joys in life including dancing, going to the Opera, and frequenting museums.  He was very well versed in the stock market and enjoyed going on day trips with his friends from the Freehold Senior Center.  Years ago, he was an avid tennis player.  More recently, he enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. He also enjoyed traveling, and he especially loved spending time with his family. 

Survivors include one daughter; Emily Nelson and her fiancé Michael Trani of Lebanon, NJ. Two step-daughters; Carol O’Halloran and her husband Michael of Brooklyn, NY and Susan Canny and her husband Thomas of Brooklyn, NY.  Four siblings; Philip Nelson of Bay Ridge, NY, Harold Nelson and his wife Linda of VA, Thomas Nelson and his husband Steven Swaya of Bay Ridge, NY and India Kaplan and her husband Seymour of Manhattan, NY.  Nieces and nephew; Grace Esponda, Robert Nelson and Diane Iachini.  He is also survived by five great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with Funeral Service held at 8pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
