Douglas "Doug" William Ivie, age 34, of Flemington, N.J., passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on Route 31. He was born on February 12, 1985, in New York, N.Y. He was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County. He was the son of William George Ivie Jr. and Tracy Ecclesine Ivie of Clinton, N.J. Doug was a 2003 graduate of Voorhees High School, where he was a member of the marching band for four years. After graduation, he attended DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Wash. Doug worked at a variety of jobs in Hunterdon County over the years. He enjoyed designing video games and playing Texas Hold 'em. He was also a drummer and bass player. Survivors in addition to his loving parents, include his sister; Christine Ivie of Florida, his paternal grandmother, Jean S. Ivie of Alpharetta, Ga., 15 aunts and uncles: David Ivie and his wife, Susan, of Jupiter, Fla., Susan Barrett and her husband, Brad, of Cartersville, Ga., Peter Ecclesine and his wife, Jan, of Gilroy, Calif., Kim Salcido and her husband, Ruben, of Pacifica, Calif., Steve Ecclesine of Los Angeles, John Ecclesine and his wife, Linda, of Ramona, Calif., Amy Ecclesine of Berkeley, Calif., Michelle Sheetz and her husband, Patrick, and Joseph Ecclesine of San Diego, Calif. Doug is also survived by 13 cousins from around the country. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 29, 2019, from 2-4 p.m. at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, N.J. Interment will be private.
