Evangeline P. Baker, age 82, of Bethlehem Twp., NJ passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at home.
She was born on May 15, 1937 in High Bridge, NJ. She spent her childhood in High Bridge, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County.
She was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Schyler Beam.
Evangeline was the wife of Bruce H. Baker Sr., celebrating 65 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of High Bridge High School.
Evangeline was a Scanning Coordinator for A&P in Clinton, NJ for 23 years.
She enjoyed sewing years ago. She was also very active with the Hunterdon County Special Olympics where her late son Bruce was a participant. She volunteered and went to events for many years for the organization. Her whole world revolved around caring for son and taking him to his Special Olympics events.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband include her daughter; Joyce L. Leather and her husband William of Bethlehem, PA. One granddaughter; Amanda Marie Leather of Bethlehem, PA.
Predeceased in addition to her parents include her beloved son; Bruce H. Baker Jr. who passed away in September of 2018. She is also predeceased by her sister; Emma Mitchell.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020 from 2-4pm and funeral service at 4pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
