John E. Farley, age 84, of Oxford, NJ passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Warren Haven Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Oxford, NJ.
He was born on July 13, 1935 in High Bridge, NJ. He was a resident of Oxford, NJ since 1987, moving from Hampton, NJ.
He was the son of the late Maynard D. And Ethel McCatharn Farley.
John was the husband of Yvonne Marie Farley.
John was a US Army veteran serving from 1958 to 1960. He was stationed in Ft. Richardson in Anchorage, AK.
He was retired from the State of New Jersey D.E.P. Spruce Run Recreation Area in Clinton, NJ. He worked there from 1970 until his retirement. Prior to that, he worked at Taylor-Wharton in High Bridge, NJ for over 14 years.
Past memberships include St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Washington, NJ, L.H. Taylor Fire Co. in High Bridge, NJ, Glen Gardner Fire Co. in Glen Gardner, NJ and also a past member of the firemen’s exempt association.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include one niece; April Lynn Zwitkowits and her husband John of Newton, NJ. Four nephews. One great-nephew; Cole Zwitkowits.
Predeceased by one brother; Joseph T. Farley.
Calling hours will be Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 1pm – 4pm followed by Funeral Service at 4pm. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
