Douglas ‘Rocky’ F. Roxlau, age 58, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at home.
He was born on March 20, 1961 in Perth Amboy, NJ. He had resided in Lebanon Twp., NJ for the past 30 years, moving from Carteret, NJ.
Rocky was the son of Janet McLain Williams of Toms River, NJ and the late Donald Roxlau.
He was the husband of Karen A. Frank Ihling.
Rocky worked as a mechanic in High Bridge, NJ for over 49 years.
His biggest passion was drag racing. His funny car, Time Bomb, was well known on the track. Having built the car himself, Rocky was an extremely talented fabricator. Over the years, he also volunteered building Go Carts for many kids in High Bridge. His passion for children was seen on every Christmas Eve when he would anonymously donate numerous Christmas gifts to several Children’s Hospitals.
Rocky was known for his kindness and generosity to so many. His love for his family, fellow racers and his love of cars will never be forgotten by all.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife and mother include his step-father; Jim Williams of Toms River, NJ. Five children; Dara Lombardi and her husband Kevin of Edison, NJ, David Ihling of Round Rock, TX, Justin Ihling of Bayville, NJ, Cailey Ihling of Alpha, NJ and Cody Ihling of Lebanon Twp., NJ. He is also survived by one sister; Debra Hratko of Howell, NJ.
All services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home in High Bridge, NJ.
