Albert J. Nagie

Albert J. Nagie, age 94, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. 

He was born on September 12, 1931 in Morristown, NJ.  He was a lifelong resident of Califon, NJ and was raised on his family’s farm.

He was the son of the late John and Paulette (Blaise) Nagie. 

Albert was the husband of Dorothy A. VanNest Nagie, celebrating 70 years of marriage.  The couple graduated from High Bridge High School (class of 1950), where Albert was voted ‘Best looking’ while Dorothy was voted ‘Most athletic’. 

While Albert was a farmer all his life, he also worked for NJ Power & Light for over 30 years as a lineman. 

He was very active with the North Hunterdon Board of Education where he was instrumental in the building of Voorhees High School.  He was also on the Lebanon Township Board of Adjustment and the Lower Valley Cemetery Committee. 

Albert was passionate about farming.  He also enjoyed shooting, especially trap shooting.  He was an avid hunter.  Most of all, Albert adored his family and friends and loved going to family events.  He enjoyed life on the farm, where it was seen as a social stop for so many in the area.  Albert loved interacting with friends at the farm where he would give advice and solve the township problems. 

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include two children; Kathy Nagie of Lebanon Twp., NJ and Kevin Nagie and his wife Holly of Park City, UT.  Four grandchildren; Steven Nagie and his wife Kimiko of Salt Lake City, UT, Matthew Nagie of Park City, UT, Douglas Nagie and his wife Blanca of Salt Lake City, UT and Jenna Nagie of Park City, UT.  One brother; Victor Nagie and his wife Fran of Granbury, TX.  Many nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 2-5pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Funeral service will be Monday, April 13, 2026 at 11am at the Califon United Methodist Church, 15 Raritan River Road,  Califon, NJ.  Interment at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
