Alice Georgeann Brydia, 89, of Flemington, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ.
Born on April 24, 1937, in Elizabethtown, PA, Alice was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Schmidt) Weiss. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Lawrence E. Brydia, who passed away in 2013 after 53 years of marriage as well as her seven siblings.
Alice dedicated many years of her career to working at the Hunterdon County National Bank in Flemington, NJ before retiring as a Vice President. She was known for her kind heart, strong faith, and unwavering commitment to serving others.
Before her career in banking, Alice rewrote policy materials for her local Board of Education, discovering a talent for educational policy work that led her to write policy materials for school districts across the country, helping shape clear and effective guidance for countless communities.
A faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, NJ, Alice was actively involved in parish life for many years. She served as an usher, participated on several church committees, and helped initiate the parish’s Script gift card program. Her faith extended beyond the church walls through more than 25 years of volunteer service with the United Way, where she touched countless lives through her generosity and compassion.
Alice had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. She could walk into a room and quickly know everyone, striking up conversations with ease and forming lasting friendships. She truly had a heart for people and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
In her free time, Alice enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers, traveling and exploring new places, and expressing her creativity through crafts, cross-stitching, and diamond painting. She cherished time with her family and treasured every opportunity to bring loved ones together.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Robert Eugene Brydia of Texas; her daughter, Dawn Marie Augustine and her husband William Alexander, of Vermont; her grandsons, Keith Rutger Augustine, his fiancée Olivia, and Ryan Alexander Augustine, his wife Abigail, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
