Anthony L. Signa

Anthony L. Signa, 78, of longtime resident of Rutherford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. 

Born on February 26, 1948, in Passaic, New Jersey, Anthony was the son of the late Louis and Katherine (Lepanto) Signa.  

He earned his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where he later worked as a Professor teaching music composition. 

Anthony was a very accomplished professional musician, specializing in jazz music. 

In addition to his love of music, Anthony was an avid New York Knicks fan.

Survivors include his brother; Stephen Signa and his wife Barbara of Lebanon Twp., NJ as well as many beloved cousins.  

All services are private.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home in High Bridge, NJ. 

Anthony will be remembered for his lifelong devotion to music and the lasting impression he made on those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
