Anthony “Tony” Vincent DeProspero

Anthony ‘Tony’ Vincent DeProspero, 92, of High Bridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Scotch Plains, NJ on May 14, 1934, Anthony was the beloved son of the late Angelo and Clara (DiPace) DeProspero. A veteran of the United States Army, he honorably served his country before beginning a long career as a contractor, where he was known for his strong work ethic, craftsmanship, and dedication to every project he undertook.

Tony was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Margaret L. DeProspero, with whom he shared 40wonderful years of marriage. 

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his three children, Victoria Petersen; Lisa Wodzisz and her husband, Mike; John DeProspero and his wife, Michelle; and He is also survived by his stepchildren, Robin Parker and her husband, John, and David Roberts and his wife, Lynn. Tony was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren and cherished great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Anthony enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved bowling in his younger years, woodworking, and spending quiet afternoons reading. He was also an active member of UNICO in Scotch Plains many years ago, where he enjoyed giving back to his community. 

Calling hours will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ.
