Beatrice E. Powers

Beatrice E. Powers, age 97, of Pittstown, NJ passed away on February 27, 2021 at Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ. 

She was born on June 6, 1923 in Watervliet, NY.  She resided at Country Arch Care Center for the past three years, moving from Glen Gardner, NJ. She had previously lived down the shore for many years. 

She was the daughter of the late Foster Voorhees Campbell and Helen M. Wescott Holan.

Her husband, Robert Thomas Powers, passed away in 1983.

Beatrice was an LPN Nurse for many years at New Lisbon Developmental Center in New Lisbon, NJ.  She also worked in Real Estate in Clinton when she resided in Hunterdon County.

Beatrice was a remarkable woman who loved to try new things. Some things she was successful at, while other things less successful at.  Nevertheless, she always endured.  From becoming a Nurse at age 40, to starting painting at age 80, she was always full of life.  Beatrice loved to read and enjoyed being very social.  She enjoyed going to lunch with her friends and she never missed a family function.  Years ago, she enjoyed sewing and baking.

Memberships include the Clinton Twp. Senior Club.

Survivors include two sons; Robert J. Powers and his wife Patricia of Manahawkin, NJ and Thomas Scott Powers and his wife Brenda of Easton, PA.  Two daughters; Judy E. Van Doren and her husband Jack of Clinton Twp., NJ and Deborah A. McDonald and her husband Jim of Clinton Twp., NJ.  Ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her half-sister; Lorraine Cogley of Manville, NJ and half-brother; Robert Campbell of Tampa, FL. 

Predeceased in addition to her husband by her grandson; Scott Van Doren as well as her sister; Estelle M. MacDonald. 

A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
