Carolyn ‘Lynn’ Rose Johnson

Carolyn ‘Lynn’ Rose Johnson, age 60, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at home.

Born on August 23, 1959 in Flushing, NY to her parents, the late Herbert Kluge and Virginia Krause Kluge, Lynn spent her early childhood in Long Island, NY. She and her family moved to Hunterdon County during her junior year in High School. It was at the Voorhees High School track where Lynn met her late husband Mark E. Johnson.  Together they enjoyed 35 years of marriage.

A graduate of Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner, NJ, Lynn went on to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at the College of Saint Elizabeth. Always striving to learn all that she could to help her students, she continued her education at Rider University, where she earned her Master’s Degree.  

Lynn was an incredibly devoted and caring wife, mother and elementary school teacher.  In the early years of her professional career, she cherished her role as a special education teacher.  Recent years found her enjoying teaching and learning from her vibrant and energetic 5th grade students.  Lynn dedicated more than 30 years of her life to the students and fellow teachers of Franklin Township School District in Quakertown, NJ, where she was known as an exceptional and caring teacher.  She lived each and every day with devotion to her loved ones and students, past and present.  An angel on earth, Lynn earned her heavenly wings through all of her kind and caring deeds, smiles and words of encouragement to others.

Lynn was a very active member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Califon, NJ. She was also involved in other organizations including the 4H, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Plainfield Kennel Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Alexa Mae Qian Johnson of Lebanon Twp., NJ, of whom she was extremely proud.  Six siblings: Cathy Kluge of Upper Black Eddy, PA; Sue Wirasnik and her husband Dan of Lebanon Twp., NJ; Peg York and her husband Brian of Pittstown, NJ; Gina Wydner and her husband Dan of Upper Black Eddy, PA; Bill Kluge and his wife Laura of Blossburg, PA; and Beth Kluge of Harleysville, PA. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Joan Johnson of Lebanon Twp., NJ.  Sister-in-law; Chris Anderson and her husband Jim O’Shaughnessy.  Nieces and nephews: Peter, Brian, Gina and her fiancé Joel, Cathy, Ben, Kevin, Amy, Matthew, Jackie, and Luke and his wife Silvana.  

***Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Califon, NJ.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Clinton NJ.***
