Catherine Margaret Huschke

Catherine Helen Huschke, age 72, of Union Twp., NJ, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at home, with her loving family by her side. 

Catherine was born on January 4, 1954, in Plainfield, NJ, to the late Edward and Catherine (Hanan) Galauski. She spent her childhood in Westfield, NJ, before moving to Hunterdon County, NJ, where she has resided since 1980. 

Catherine was the wife of the late Wolfram Huschke. Married in 1980, the two celebrated 41 years of marriage before his passing in 2022. 

Catherine earned her master's degree from Seton Hall University and spent her career as a teacher. She taught at Somerset Hills School District for 34 years, and up until her retirement, she taught at Bernardsville High School. 

Catherine was very involved in her children’s lives growing up and loved attending their sporting events. She loved to teach summer school, read, and spend time at the beach. 

Catherine is survived by her beloved children, Jessica Huschke and Christian Huschke, and her granddaughter, August Rain Huschke-Martel. 

In addition to her husband, Catherine is predeceased by her brother, Edward Galauski Jr., who passed away in March 2020.
