Charles W. Bazalo, age 76, of Washington, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Asbury, NJ.
He was born on April 29, 1948 in Jersey City, NJ. He resided for many years in Bergen County, NJ before moving to Bridgewater, NJ and Washington, NJ.
He was the son of the late Frank and Filomena Palazzo Bazalo.
Charles enlisted in the US Marine Corp at the age of 18 where he was awarded a purple heart as the result of his wounds in Vietnam.
Charles was the husband of Rocca Sally Hilburn Bazalo, celebrating 55 years of marriage.
Charles was a Heavy Equipment Operator, and a member of the Welders and Carpenters Unions in Hackensack, NJ.
He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972 and served as a congregation elder for over a decade. More recently, he attended the Lebanon Congregation in Clinton, NJ.
Charles had a sense of humor even during difficult times, and he was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to others. He enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, mechanics and building things. He also loved watching old movies and listening to oldies music. Most of all, he loved being a Dad. He adored his wife, daughters and grandchildren and he loved spending time with them.
