Christopher E. Kuras

Christopher E. Kuras, age 82, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Heath Village Retirement Community in Hackettstown, NJ.

He was born on January 10, 1942 in Jersey City, NJ. He resided in Clinton Twp., NJ since 1980.

He was the son of the late Stan and Anna Tyra Kuras.

His beloved wife, Lorraine Y. Discher Kuras, passed away in 2023 after 55 years of marriage.

Christopher was a Locomotive Engineer until his retirement.

He loved fishing on his boat and spent many vacations visiting, exploring and fishing the Outer Banks in NC as well as many of the national parks out west with his wife Lorraine.  Christopher loved history, especially war history, and read practically every book available on the subjects as well as enjoyed watching documentaries on the same.

Survivors include his three children; Adam Kuras and his wife Ellie of Flemington, NJ, Joanne Sapanaro and her fiancé Mat Benol of Asbury, NJ and Edward Kuras of Chicago, IL, his six grandchildren; A.J. Kuras, Thomas Sapanaro, Doug Kuras, Julia Sapanaro, Chloe Kuras and Jenna Sapanaro and his six siblings; Stanley, Andy, John, Jeannie, Ann Jeanette and Mark. 

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 12pm – 3pm with funeral service at 3pm, all at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Entombment at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ will be private.
