Claire Rose Knapp, age 77, of High Bridge, NJ passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.
She was born on June 23, 1946 in Newark, NJ. She spent her childhood in Newark and resided in High Bridge for many years.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph William Knapp Sr. and Rosemary Cecelia Knapp.
Claire worked as a Bank Teller for many years and later as the Clerk in the Borough of High Bridge until her retirement.
Claire was a very devout Catholic and was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clinton, NJ.
She enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed her trips to Wyoming and Montana. She also loved going on day trips with friends including her best friend Joanne Apgar. They loved going to see the cherry blossoms in Washington DC and the 9/11 Memorial at Eagle Rock Reservation. Claire also enjoyed showing her Border Collies.
Survivors include numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in South Jersey including Christine Whittle, Scott Knapp, Gregory Knapp and Keith Demko, her Godson. She is also survived by many wonderful friends and her beloved dog; Logan.
Predeceased by numerous relatives including her brother; Joseph William Knapp Jr. and her sister; Doris Mae Downey.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 12pm to 1pm with Funeral Service at 1pm. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
