Clyde ‘Skip’ Mowrey III, age 63, of High Bridge, NJ passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at home.
He was born on April 4, 1957 at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Clyde Mowrey Jr. and Shirley Hornbaker Mowrey.
Skip was the husband of Carol Ann Kertesz Mowrey, celebrating 35 years of marriage. The couple resided in High Bridge since 1985.
He attended North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, NJ. After High School, he enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1975-1979.
Skip worked for Stryker Heating & Air Conditioning and Stewarts Heating & Air Conditioning for many years. He also owned and operated his own company, Mowrey’s Heating & Air Conditioning. He was last employed by Hitran as a welder.
Memberships include St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in High Bridge where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Skip was an avid outdoorsman, handyman and dog lover. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He also loved woodworking and cooking.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include three daughters; Barbara Hochwarter of Bethlehem Twp., PA, Kelly Balodis and her husband Adam of Bartlett, NH and Danielle Rugama and her husband Angelo of Flemington, NJ. Four granddaughters; Jordyn Hochwarter, Annabelle Balodis, Maya Rugama and Indie Rugama. One grandson due in April of 2021. He is also survived by one brother; Jeffrey Mowrey and his wife Victoria of Broadheadsville, PA. Several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one sister; Susan Santin who lived in Kingwood Twp., NJ.
Calling hours will be Sunday, November 8, 2020 from 2-4pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ. Funeral Mass will be Monday, November 9, 2020 at 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in High Bridge, NJ. Interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington, NJ.
