Dale Smith Petty Sr.

Dale Smith Petty Sr., age 68, of Washington, NJ passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 20, 1955 in Michigan.  He graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, NJ. A Hampton native but resided in Washington, NJ since 2003.  
He was the son of the late Ben and Anne Eastwood Petty.
He was the husband of Linda Marie Hicks Petty.
Dale was the owner and operator of Petty Paving for 25+ years, then worked as a Sales Representative for Hicks Paving in Hampton, NJ until his retirement in 2020.  
Dale was passionate about music, and was an amazing blues guitar musician . A simple man but always a creative and freethinker. He was an artist, an inventor, a comedian, a trendsetter, and a professional. But most importantly he was a father, a brother, a friend, and a husband to the love of his life Linda. He enjoyed NASCAR, trucks, sports, films, and cracking jokes. A beautiful mind with an endless pool of information. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Las Vegas Raiders fan.  
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include three children; Dale Petty and his wife Sabrina of Walnutport, PA, Samuel Petty and his wife Joanne of Lopatcong Twp., NJ and Nettielisa Tabasco and her husband Arty of Montgomery, NY.  Fourteen Grandchildren; Dale III, Charlotte, Sabrina,Scarlett, Violet, Johnnyrichard, Joan, Charlotte, Faye, Summer, Carmellajoan, Lindamarie, Mary and Christine.  One great-granddaughter; Ella Louise.  He is also survived by one sister; Kathy Petty of Glen Gardner, NJ.  
Predeceased by his beloved son; Richard W. Hicks Petty who passed away in 2013.  One sister; Crystal Petty.  
Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 5-8pm with Funeral Service at 7:30pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 12pm at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery, 108 Valley Road, Hampton, NJ.
