Daniel A. Lime

Daniel A. Lime, age 96, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.

He was born on September 27, 1925 in Paterson, NJ.  He spent his childhood in Paterson before living in Bridgewater, NJ, Flemington, NJ and West Palm Beach, FL.  He has resided in Clinton Twp. since 2017.

He was the son of the late Jacob and Jennie Hascup Lime.

Daniel was the husband of Barbara R. McDougall Lime, celebrating 73 years of marriage.

Daniel was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II on the USS Mount McKinley as a Signalman. 

After his military discharge, Daniel went on to pursue his career with the police department.  He was a State Trooper for nine years.  After leaving the force, he worked as a Detective for Frank Seaman in Perth Amboy.

Memberships include the Pluckemin Presbyterian Church in Pluckemin, NJ where he was a member for over 50 years.  He was also a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in West Palm Beach. FL.

Daniel was a Scout Master for over 30 years, both in Pluckemin and Patterson, NJ.  He was also a Scuba Diver for the State Police.

He immensely enjoyed carving and painting ducks out of wood.  It was one of his biggest pastimes. 

Daniel was 1st in his Class athletically, as he loved baseball and football. 

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include four children; Daniel Lime II and his wife Wendy of Spring, TX, James Lime and his wife Kim of York, ME, Kathy Dolbier and her husband Carey of Clinton Twp., NJ and Patti Hersch of Frisco, TX.  Ten grandchildren.  Twenty great-grandchildren. 

Predeceased by one brother; Neil Lime.  Two sisters; Harriet Heft and Ellie Vandermullen. 

Calling hours will take place on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11am at Pluckemin Presbyterian Church, 279 Rt. 202-206, Pluckemin, NJ. **Please note, Masks are required at Pluckemin Presbyterian Church. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you.  

Interment will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 12:30pm at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
