David Button Obituary

David Justin Button, 26, of Pittstown, NJ passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown, PA from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on February 4, 1995 in Hackettstown, NJ and resided in Pittstown, NJ for most of his life.  The son of Frederick and Linda (Laba) Button of Pittstown, NJ, he graduated from Delaware Valley Regional High School in 2013 and prior to that attended Immaculate Conception School in Annandale, NJ.

David was passionate about his work as a carpenter.  He learned the carpentry trade by working closely with his father and his uncle after high school.  He was a quick learner with a great attitude – he enjoyed making people smile throughout his workday. For the past three years he was a proud member of Local 254, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, working for Anderson Interiors Contracting Inc. out of Fairfield, NJ.  It was here that he met so many wonderful people and made so many new friends and acquaintances. He truly loved going to work each day.

He was an amazing fisherman. Dave loved fly fishing, charter fishing for stripers, party boats, and annual steelhead trips to Lake Ontario. He had a close group of friends he loved fishing with – he could never say no to an invite to just go fishing. And he shared generously - he supplied many a fish dinner for family and friends.  David also loved listening to music.  He could not walk away from a Bob Dylan song, or resist the temptation to dance to Neil Young, or sing along to a Paul Rodgers tune.   He was also a social member of the Glen Gardner VFW and made many a good friendship there.

In addition to his parents David will be missed so very much by his sister and her husband, Amy and Justin Stem of Milford, NJ, his nephew, Tucker J. Stem, and the love of his life, his girlfriend Sarah Housman, of Harmony, NJ who meant the world to him.  David has many aunts, uncles and cousins who always loved and admired his spirit, as well as many good friends – some old and some new - who will miss him and his infectious smile.  He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Myrtle and William Button and his maternal grandparents, Ann and Michael Laba of Bridgewater, NJ.

Calling Hours will take place on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 2 White Bridge Road, Pittstown, NJ.  Interment at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David’s memory to Trout Unlimited, PO Box 7400 Woolly Bugger, WV 25438 or by visiting www.tu.org
