Obituary

Donald J. Barwick, age 66, of Bethlehem Twp., NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ at the side of his loving wife. Donald was the proud husband of Mirella Apicella Barwick, celebrating 26 years of marriage

Don grew up in Elizabeth NJ, raised by his dad the late William Thomas Barwick.

He was a Navy veteran, after serving his country during the Vietnam War he went on to continue public service as a Police officer with the Linden NJ police department and a member of their SWAT team. After retiring he devoted his time to helping rescue animals and also working at the Heritage Guild in Branchburg NJ.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include four children; Tara Cano and her husband Matt of Spotswood, NJ, Donn Erik Barwick of Linden, NJ, Conner Barwick of Bethlehem Twp., NJ and Hunter Barwick of Bethlehem Twp., NJ. Two grandchildren; Nathaniel Cano and Adam Cano. He is also survived by his step-mother; Grace Barwick and Step-brother; Gil Taglialatela.  Son in law to Michele Apicella(late) and Alarseinda Apicella.  He was a loving brother-in-law to; Mateo Apicella and his wife Colleen, Antonio Apicella and his wife Sandra (late), Giovanny Apicella and his wife Jennifer and Italo Apicella.  He was an amazing uncle to Alexa, Haley, Michael, Nickolas, Kyle and Caroline.

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 2-5pm with funeral service beginning at 5pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will take place privately at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
