Donald C. Varga

Donald C. Varga, age 69, of Lebanon Township, NJ passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ, he previously resided in Belle Mead, NJ upon his marriage in 1983 to Sally (Shaw) Varga until moving to Lebanon Township, NJ in 1993. Don graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Microbiology, and he most recently worked as a Radiation Safety Technologist for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences in Newark, NJ until his retirement. He was a member of Lower Valley Presbyterian Church in Califon, NJ.

Don loved the Beatles and was not afraid to show off his singing voice in public. He was a creative person and showed that creativity through his drawings, his photography, and his various other crafts. He also enjoyed gardening and working outside.

He is predeceased by his parents, Casimir J. and Irene (Farkas) Varga; his sister, Joan Snuszka; and his brothers, Gerald “Jerry” Varga and Gary Varga.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sally; his daughters, Sara Varga and Allison Varga of Lebanon Township, NJ; his brother, Tom Varga and his wife Rhoda of Metuchen, NJ; his sister, Eileen Nielsen and her husband Ralph of Metuchen, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

All services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home in High Bridge, NJ.
