Edith Diane Sandelier

Edith Diane Sandelier, age 82, of Lebanon Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at home.

She was born on November 24, 1940 in Plainfield, NJ.  She spent her childhood in Plainfield, NJ and graduated from Plainfield High School in 1958.  She resided in South Plainfield, NJ with her husband for many years before moving to Cooper City, FL where she lived for 22 years.  She resided in Lebanon Twp., NJ since 1999. 

She was the daughter of the late Edith Quick Lewis.

She was the wife of Gordon J. Sandelier.  The couple were High School sweethearts and were married on September 5, 1959 at St. Mary’s Church in Plainfield, NJ. 

Edith had various jobs throughout her career.  Early on, she worked as a Teller at Queen City Savings & Loan in Plainfield, NJ.  When she resided in FL, she worked for American Express in Davie, FL in their transaction verification department. 

Memberships include St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in High Bridge, NJ.  Years ago, she volunteered at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield, NJ with her mother. 

Edith enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading.  She especially enjoyed reading National Geographic magazines.  She loved traveling, especially traveling with her husband in their motorhome in which they visited the Grand Canyon three times.  She also loved to look at family photos.

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband of 63 years include four sons; Gordon Sandelier and his wife Laurie of Coarsegold, CA, Daniel Sandelier and his wife Joy of Greenwood, Todd Sandelier and his wife Sue of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Michael Sandelier and his wife Angela of Virginia Beach, VA.  Seven grandchildren; Dena, Danny, Andrew, Samantha, Matthew, Mikey and Bella.  Three great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister; Elizabeth Stranzeback.  Several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by three brothers; Robert Lewis, Kenneth Lewis and David Lewis. 

Calling hours will take place on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, High Bridge, NJ.  Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 398 County Road 513, Califon, NJ.  Interment to follow at Springdale United Methodist Church Cemetery in Warren, NJ.
