Elizabeth 'Liz' Ann Haffling

Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Ann Haffling, age 80, of High Bridge, NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 4, 1942 in Glen Gardner, NJ.  She was a life-long resident of Hunterdon County.

She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Loretta Burd Lance. 

Liz was the wife of Ronald L. Haffling, celebrating 57 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, NJ, class of 1960. 

Liz worked as a Paralegal throughout her career.  She first worked for Consumer Research in Washington, NJ.  Later she worked for the State of New Jersey and for Daniel Richards Law Firm in Clinton, NJ. 

She was a previous member and Elder at the Annandale Reformed Church in Annandale, NJ.   

Liz was a loving mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and going on trips to New Hampshire with her husband.  They especially enjoyed a beautiful trip to New Hampshire on their 50th wedding anniversary.  She also loved going to the Jersey Shore.  Liz also loved holidays and enjoyed Christmas when all the kids were together.  She will always be remembered for being feisty, yet you knew where you stood with her.  She loved her friends and family fiercely. 

Survivors in addition to her beloved husband include one son; Randy M. Haffling and his wife Christine of Bangor, PA.  One daughter; Colleen Hann and her husband Michael of High Bridge, NJ.  Seven grandchildren; Stephanie Haffling, Lauren Haffling, James Hann, Mikey Hann, Connor Haffling, Rachel Haffling and Maggie Hann.  She is also survived by one brother; Michael V. Lance of Carol Stream, IL.  Sister-in-law; Anna B. Danner of Middle Port, PA. 

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.  Funeral service will be Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11am.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment to follow at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ.
