Eric Daniel Cunningham, age 40, of Clinton Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Born on January 7, 1986, and raised in York, PA by his mother Jill Keller (nee Shoemaker), he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cornell University and worked as a civil and structural engineer for MKA International, Inc. in Hillsborough, NJ. Since 2017, he has resided in Annandale, NJ with his wife of nearly 10 years, Dana Beth Cunningham (nee Mallen), and his twin sons, Andrew and Nathan, age 6.
In addition to his loving mother, devoted wife and sons, Eric is survived by his sister, Heather Ace and her husband Ryan, of Pottstown, PA, his paternal grandfather, Jack R. Cunningham of East Berlin, PA, his stepfather, Joseph Keller, of Carlisle, PA, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews.
Eric is predeceased by his father, Roger Cunningham, his paternal grandmother, Nancy A. Cunningham, and his maternal grandparents, Dale Sr. and Janet Shoemaker.
Eric was an avid outdoorsman, sharing his love of hiking, skiing, and rock climbing with his family and friends. He enjoyed applying his education and experience working on projects around his home and advising friends and family. Eric relished cooking for his loved ones and trying new recipes. He was highly intelligent and enjoyed playing board games, card games, and online games to challenge himself. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his sons, Nathanand Andrew, and especially enjoyed hiking, reading,and playing games with them and teaching them about the things he loved most.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 10am-11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am, at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
