Eugene ‘Gene’ S. Bridge, age 89, of Hampton, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023peacefully at home.
He was born on February 4, 1934 in Merchantville, NJ. He was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, NJ.
He was the son of the late Charles M. and Romayne Sommers Bridge.
Gene was the husband of Adriana Zuidweg Bridge, celebrating 63 years of marriage.
Gene attended Hampton High School for his first 3 years and was in the first graduating class from North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, NJ.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, serving with the 6911th Radio Group Mobile in Darmstadt, Germany. He met his wife-to-be, Adriana, in Amsterdam, Netherlands while on leave.
Gene retired as a Warehouse Specialist for Hoffman LaRoche in Belvidere, NJ. Prior to that, he was employed by Ethel-Visqueen Corp. in Flemington, NJ.
Memberships include Host Lodge Free and Accepted Masons in High Bridge, NJ as well as the Order of the Eastern Star Hobart Chapter in High Bridge, NJ. He was also a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Washington, NJ.
Gene was a train enthusiast. He also loved watching sports and gameshows. He played softball and baseball in his younger years and was always a fan of Philadelphia sports teams.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include three children; James Bridge of Hampton, NJ, Romayne Ceragioli and her husband Matthew of Redondo Beach, CA and Pieter Bridge and his wife Stacey of Wyantskill, NY. Three grandchildren; Kaitlyn Bridge, Christian Ceragioli and Ryan Ceragioli. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one son; Charles Bridge who passed away in 2013. He is also predeceased by four siblings;Charles Bridge, Elsie Supplee, Carlton Bridge and Alfred Bridge.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm with Masonic and Eastern Star services beginning at 7pm. Funeral will be Thursday, January 4, 2023 at 11am. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
