Eugenia ‘Jeanne’ Eppi Vollmann, nee Economides, age 80, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ after a brief illness.

She was born on July 2, 1943 in New York, NY.  She spent her childhood in Leonia, NJ and then resided in various places in Bergen County including North Bergen, Parsippany and Midland Park.  She moved to Clinton, NJ in 1971 and later moved to Franklin Twp. and Clinton Twp.

She was the daughter of the late Leander Kimon and Gladys Pearl Carson Economides. 

Jeanne received her undergraduate degree at Elmira College. Fresh out of college, she had a fashion career with Bloomingdales in New York City and then left the business to raise her two sons.

After raising her two sons, she was a Rutgers University graduate, receiving her Masters in Social Work degree.  She worked in the ICU in Morristown Medical Center before becoming the Director of Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ and Rolling Hills Care Center in Lebanon, NJ.  She retired as a Community Liaison at the Eastern Star Nursing Home in Bridgewater, NJ. 

In the 1970’s, Jeanne was on the Board of Director’s for the Flemington YMCA and actively involved with the Clinton Art Center.  She also volunteered with the Sink or Swim fundraisers at Camp Carr. 

Jeanne was one of the founding members of the Clinton Gourmet Club.  She enjoyed cooking and entertaining.  She was always very social and the consummate hostess. 

She also enjoyed watercolor, gardening, flower arranging, decorating and watching British shows on Netflix including the Great British Bakeoff.  She also loved traveling.  She especially enjoyed her trips to Japan, Puerto Rico, and France.  She frequently visited Maine and Sanibel Island with her family which she loved and the Jersey Shore with her sisters.

Survivors include two sons; Christopher Eugene Vollmann of Clinton Twp., NJ and Darren Eugene Vollmann of Clinton Twp., NJ.  Her “Swedish son”, Magnus Joneus. Two sisters; Kathi Verbeek and her husband Hank ‘Bob’ Robert Verbeek of Leonia, NJ and Eppie Manganelli and her husband Charles J. Manganelli of Greenville, SC.  Her Aunt Kathryn Economides, the family matriarch. Her first cousin Olga Horman and her husband Leon Horman. Many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Predeceased by one sister; Leandra Elizabeth Damurjian. 

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 1pm – 3pm with Funeral Service at 2pm.  Al at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will be private.
