Frank Bernardo Obituary

Frank S. Bernardo, age 82, of Lebanon Borough, NJ passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ.

He was born on September 11, 1937 in Kearny, NJ.  He spent his childhood in Kearny, NJ.  He lived in East Windsor, NJ and Colonia, NJ before moving to Lebanon Borough 14 years ago.

He was the son of the late Steven and Theresa Manfredi Bernardo.

Frank was the husband of Mary Kenny Bernardo, celebrating over 60 years of marriage.

Frank graduated from Kearny High School and also attended Seton Hall University.  He worked as a Sales Manager for the Occupational Center of Union County (OCUC) until his retirement in 2007.

Memberships include Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Annandale, NJ.

Frank was an accomplished baseball player and is featured in the Hall of Fame at Kearny High School.  After high school Frank signed a minor league contract with the New York Giants and played several years within the organization. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid Yankee fan.  He also enjoyed cooking, especially his delicious Pasta Fagioli soup and antipasto salad.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include three children; Theresa Easse and her husband Edward of Wayne, NJ, Mary Beth Pittinger and her husband Jim of Lebanon, NJ and Christopher Bernardo and his wife Nathalia of West Caldwell, NJ.  Six grandchildren; Eddie Easse, Andrew Easse, Alex Pittinger, Elizabeth Pittinger, Shane Bernardo and Colette Bernardo.  He is also survived by one sister; Carol Jardim and her husband Fino of Bayville, NJ.  Many beloved nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by one sister; Jesse D’ambola.

Due to the current restrictions regarding Coronavirus, all services will be private.  Entombment will take place at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ.
