Frank 'Jim' James Dincuff

Frank James ‘Jim’ Dincuff, 82, of Clinton Twp., NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Born on July 25, 1942, in New Brunswick, NJ, Jim spent his childhood and early adulthood in South River, NJ. He later resided in Piscataway and Woodbridge, NJ, before settling in Clinton Twp. in 2004.

Jim was the beloved son of the late James and Helen (Tekowitz) Dincuff. He was the devoted husband of Eileen Catherine Voyna Dincuff, with whom he shared 36 years of marriage.

A lifelong learner, Jim earned his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and pursued his master’s degree at Kean University. His passion for education led to a fulfilling career, including many years at Woodland School, Monroe Twp., NJ, culminating in his role as Principal of Cook Elementary School, in Plainfield, NJ from which he retired in 2005.

Jim was deeply committed to his community, serving on the Juvenile Conference Committee in South River, NJ, and as past President of both the Plainfield Principals and Supervisors Association and the Clinton Township Board of Education. His dedication extended beyond education; he also coached Little League in South River, Piscataway, and North Hunterdon. After retirement, he continued his service by volunteering and working for Hunterdon County Meals on Wheels.

Jim had many passions, including cheering for the New York Yankees, tending to his vegetable garden, and running marathons. He completed ten marathons, including eight New York City Marathons between the ages of 45 and 60, inspiring those around him to persevere and never give up.

Above all, Jim will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a dedicated educator who championed the rights of his students and teachers, and an unwavering advocate for the underdog.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Eileen, and three children: Beth Dincuff and her husband Brett Charleston of Tewksbury Twp., NJ; Amy Dincuff and her husband Bogdan Miltchev of Sofia, Bulgaria; and Ian Dincuff and his wife Katie Kinslow of Huntersville, NC. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Sophia Charleston, Christopher Miltchev, and Helena Miltchev. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Jay Pachman of Morganville, NJ, and his brother-in-law, Carl Buffalino of South River, NJ, along with several nieces, nephews, and their families as well as Jim’s former caregiver, Zainab Ohemaah, who became an adopted special member of the Dincuff family.

Jim is predeceased by his two sons, James Dincuff and Christopher Dincuff, as well as his sister, Jacqueline Buffalino.

A celebration of Jim’s life will take place on Saturday, April 12th, from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Dincuff residence.

Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
