George W. Scott Jr.

George W. Scott Jr., age 82, of Readington Township, NJ passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at home.

He was born on July 3, 1937 in Elizabeth, NJ.  He resided in Readington Township, NJ since 2002, moving from Beach Haven, NJ.  Prior to moving to Beach Haven, Cathy and George raised their family in Succasunna, N.J.

He was the son of the late George W. Scott Sr. and Marion O’Brien Scott.

His wife, Catherine J. Bader Scott, passed away in February 2020 after 60 years of marriage.

He graduated from Seton Hall University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

George was in the US Army Reserve at Fort Dix, NJ from 1959 to 1960.

George was an Executive Sales Representative for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Parsippany, NJfrom 1960 until his retirement in 1997.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, NJ.

George enjoyed golfing and going for long bike rides on Long Beach Island.  He was also an avid Yankees fan.

Survivors include three children; Susan Shea and her husband Lawnie of Lebanon, NJ, Jennifer Scott of Readington Twp., NJ and Michael Scott and his wife Stephanie of Long Valley, NJ.  Four grandchildren; Thomas Shea, Alexander Scott, Katherine Shea and Samuel Scott.  

Predeceased in addition to his wife by one brother; Thomas F. Scott who passed away earlier this year.  

Due to the current restrictions regarding Coronavirus, all services will be private.  A memorial mass will be planned at a later date.
