George A. Zhelesnik, age 84, of Hightstown, NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Lebanon, NJ.
He was born on December 22, 1935 in Elizabeth, NJ. He resided in Hightstown for 20 years, moving from North Plainfield, NJ.
He was the son of the late Sandor and Marie Linkel Zhelesnik.
His wife, Florence Brostek Zhelesnik, passed away in 2009.
George was a Sergeant Detective with Westfield Police Department. His career spanned 28 years with the Westfield Police.
After his retirement, George operated his own business – George’s A-Z Wallpaper in Westfield, NJ.
Memberships include Fanwood Presbyterian Church where he was not only a l;onetime member, but also an Elder and Deacon.
He greatly enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity for several years.
Survivors include one son; Kenneth Zhelesnik of Lansford, PA. One daughter; Kathy Wisbeski and her husband Kenneth of Glen Gardner, NJ. One grandson; Gregory Zhelesnik and his wife Katy of Ohio.
All services will be private. Arrangements by Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.
