Gerald F. Montemurro, age 77, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at home.
He was born on February 2, 1943 in Newark, NJ and spent his childhood in Newark and Menlo Park, NJ before moving to Clinton Twp. NJ in 1980.
He was the son of the late Frank and Josephine Biondolillo Montemurro
Gerald was the husband of Mary Ellen Famula Montemurro, celebrating 52 years of marriage.
He attended Woodbridge High School, class of 1962 and after joined the US Naval Reserves where he was honorably discharged.
He later worked as Sales Account Manager for White Rose Dairy Food Distributor in Woodbridge, NJ for most of his career and then Bozzuto's Inc in Cheshire, Connecticut until his retirement.
Gerald was a passionate member of the Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from 1959-1963 and then later the Golden Knight Alumni Corp where he acted as treasurer for a time. Currently, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Annandale, NJ as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus in Union, NJ.
Survivors in addition to his loving wife include two children; daughter Denise Scro and her husband Francesco of Fair Lawn, NJ and son Michael Montemurro and his wife Michelle of Lebanon, NJ. Five grandchildren; Tristan Montemurro, Olivia Scro, Julia Scro, Phoebe Montemurro and Victoria Scro. One brother; Donald Montemurro of Sayreville, NJ and one sister; Lois Munkacsy of SC. and predeceased by one brother; Franklyn Montemurro who passed away in 2015.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 7pm to 9pm and also Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral Mass will follow on Thursday at 11am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 316 Old Allentown Road, Annandale, NJ. Entombment at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ.
