Helen M. Jenness, age 97, longtime resident of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Twp., NJ.
She was born on February 22, 1927 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late Dewey and Cora Hale Burrell.
Helen lived in the same home in Clinton Twp. for 70 years before residing at Rolling Hills Care Center for the past few years.
Helen was a longtime member of the Round Valley United Methodist Church in Lebanon, NJ.
She loved gardening and enjoyed going to the beach. She also loved doing projects around her home including painting the inside and outside of her house. She was still cutting her grass at the age of 85 with her trusty riding lawn mower.
She volunteered at Hunterdon Medical Center for over 25 years until the age of 90.
Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Helen leaves behind her two daughters; Penny Snyder and her husband Craig of North Hero, VT and Jill Evans of Easton, PA.
She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Walter Jenness III and his partner Catie LiTrenta of Milford, NJ; Craig Snyder Jr. and his wife Marci of Oxford, NJ; Heather Wolven and her husband Ed of Frenchtown, NJ; Christina Ray and her husband Richard of Eagle, ID and John Jenness of Allentown, PA. Also eight great-grandchildren; Rebecca Wolven, Jessica Wolven, Lee Snyder, Ava Snyder, Taylor Ray, Jackson Ray, Zoe Ray and Eleanor Jenness. Also many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one son; Walter Jenness Jr. and two sisters; Ann Davison and Cora Wolf.
Visitation will take place on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 with memorial service at 2:00 at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be private.
