Henry O. Hopkins

Henry O. Hopkins, age 98, of Lebanon Borough, NJ passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Sunrise of Bridgewater in Bridgewater, NJ.

He was born on December 25, 1926 in Rockeledge, PA.   He resided in Lebanon Borough, NJ for over sixty years. 

He was the son of the late Giles and Edith Silvius Hopkins. 

His beloved wife, Roberta Hopkins, passed away after 40 years of marriage. His latest wife, Jane Karnaugh, passed away in September of 2024.   

Henry was a US Army veteran, serving during World War II.  Henry was awarded various medals including the Meritorious unit award, World War II victory ribbon, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. 

Henry attended Virginia Military Institute.  He spent his career working as a Manager and Accountant for Boroughs Inc. in Warren, NJ.

Memberships include the Whitehouse VFW, Lebanon Seniors and Clinton Twp. Seniors.  He loved collecting model cars and reading Alfred Hitchcock books. 

Henry loved being involved with the Lebanon Borough community.  He was previously on the Lebanon Borough Planning Board for many years and served as Grand Marshall in the Fourth of July parade in 2009. 

Survivors include two children; William G. Hopkins and his wife Margaret of Womelsdorf, PA and Paul D. Hopkins and his husband Gerardo Ramirez of Phoenix, AZ.  Daugher-in-law; Carol Hopkins of Piscataway, NJ.  Five grandchildren; Kevin Hopkins, Craig Hopkins, Roger Hopkins, Rachel Pipitone and Russell Hopkins.  Thirteen great-grandchildren. 

He is predeceased by one son; Roger Hopkins who passed away in 2015.  One sister; Muriel Scott. 

Calling hours will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9am – 11am with funeral service at 11am at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment will be private.
