Howard L. Card

Howard L. Card passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 2, 1947, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Howard was the son of the late Howard J. Card and Janice L. Metzger Card.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Kristen Baumgartner and her husband, Joe; his cherished grandson, Joey; his sister, Barbara Card Johannesen and her husband, John; and his nieces, Sandra Philie and Nicole Stassi. Howard was predeceased by his beloved son, Jonathan, in 2009, a loss he carried with him throughout his life.

Howard graduated from Woodbridge High School before continuing his education at Middlesex College and later Montclair State College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. Throughout his career, he embraced many different roles, including physical education teacher, salesman for Roadway, automobile salesman, bartender, and finally, school bus driver.

A gifted athlete, Howard enjoyed baseball, golf, bowling, and football. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and treasured the many games he attended with his son, Jonathan. Those memories remained among his most cherished.

Known affectionately as "Howie," he was a friendly, fun-loving man whose quick wit and wonderful sense of humor brought laughter to everyone around him. He had an easy way of making friends wherever he went and will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and ability to make others smile.

Howie will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
