Irene M. Jurkowski

Irene M. Jurkowski, age 101, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 24, 1921 in Newark, NJ.  She spent her childhood in Bound Brook, NJ and resided in Clinton Twp., NJ since 1962.

She was the daughter of the late Trofris and Helen Kilacheska Boszczuk.

Her beloved husband, Bernard A. Jurkowski, passed away in 1994.

Irene had several jobs throughout her career, including working for RCA in Somerville, NJ and Singer Company.  For many years, she worked as a School Bus Driver for North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, NJ. 

Irene was very devout in her faith, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Annandale, NJ where she was also a member of their Rosary Society. 

She was also a member of the Clinton Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and a very active volunteer with Golden Talents in Flemington, NJ. 

Irene loved sewing, crocheting, ceramics, and china painting.  She was an amazing seamstress and a wonderful cook.  Most of all, she loved being with her family. 

Survivors include two sons; Stephen Jurkowski and his wife Patti Otani of Phillipsburg, NJ and Bernard Jurkowski and his wife Carol of Canton, PA.  Ten grandchildren; Trevor Jurkowski, Bernie Jurkowski, Sheri Peterson, Kimberly Clark, Chrissy Iszo, Brian Jurkowski, Michael Gall, David Gall, Jonathan Gall, and Daniel Gall.  Thirteen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Helen Gall, two sons, Thomas Jurkowski and Edward Jurkowski, and two brothers, Stanley Boszczuk and Walter Boszczuk. 

Calling hours will take place on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 4-8 pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ.  Interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Clinton, NJ.
