James Glenn Burns, age 81, of High Bridge, NJ passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at home.
He was born on May 24, 1941 in Bagdad, PA. He resided in Linden, NJ for many years before moving to High Bridge 16 years ago.
He was the son of the late Anna and Glenn James Burns.
He was a US Navy veteran, serving from 1959 to 1961.
James retired as a Maintenance Manager for Linden Housing Authority. Over the years, he had many skilled labor jobs including bartending.
Memberships include the American Legion in Linden, NJ.
He enjoyed going for walks on the Columbia Trail with his dog. He was an artist at heart, creating many beautiful paintings, sketches and sculptures. He also loved fishing and talking about politics. He will always be remembered for being fun and loving a good time.
He is survived by two sons: Joseph James Burns and his wife Maria of High Bridge, NJ; and Raymond Burns of ME. Granddaughter; Sarah of High Bridge, NJ. Three Grandsons: Kyle, Devon and Dillon and four Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister; Patricia Duncan of Freeport, PA.
James is predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Ann and Diana.
All services will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home in High Bridge, NJ.
Memorials can be made in his name to either the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Fund.
