James 'Jimmy' Thomas Monahan

James Thomas ‘Jimmy’ Monahan, age 65, of Union Twp., NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. 

He was born on December 12, 1957, in Salem, OH.  He resided at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Union Twp., NJ since 1976, moving from Bridgewater, NJ. He was dearly loved by his parents, the late John Walter and Lois Georgene Kaufman Monahan. 

James was cared for with love and attention at Hunterdon Developmental Center. He had a special fondness for music.  He truly enjoyed food, taking day trips with his fellow residents and he especially enjoyed his weekly visits with his parents. The sum of Jimmy’s life was that his disabilities gave others the opportunity to love and care for him unconditionally.

Survivors include one brother, John Monahan of Sergeant Bluff, IA and close family friend Sara Di Grazia of Bridgewater, NJ. 

All services will be private.
