Jean Waters Smith

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Jean Waters Smith, age 85, of Tewksbury Twp., NJ passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

She was born on September 7,1937 in Hastings, Sussex, England. She emigrated to the United States in July of 1968 at age 31. She originally settled in Brooklyn, NY and resided for many years in Bergen County, NJ. She lived with her daughter, Yvette, for many years.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur Edgar Waters and Dora Alexandra Waters.

Jean was a graduate of the International Bible Training Institute in England. She also worked as a nurse before moving to the United States.

Jean retired as the Manager of the Christian Center Book Store in Allendale, NJ.

Jean leaves behind a legacy of faith and love. She lived her life for the Lord and centered her life around service for others. She was a key member and Elder of Wyckoff Assembly of God in Wyckoff, NJ and attended Valley View Chapel in Long Valley, NJ. Jean loved to travel and experienced Russia, Kenya and lived in Singapore. She loved knitting, reading, walking, and caring for her grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters; Donna McGuinness (Michael) of Smyrna, GA, Karen Monroe (Charles) of Comfort, TX and Yvette Corradi (Mark) of Tewksbury Twp., NJ. Eleven grandchildren; Sean Ondich, Jennifer Martin, Ashley Greco, Hannah Powell, Katherine Ondich, Sarah Lee, Alana Corradi, Courtney McGuinness, Casey McGuinness, Taylor Monroe and Kayla Corradi and eleven great-grandchildren. Three loving siblings: Jack Waters of Vancouver, Canada, May Simnett of Fethiye, Turkey, and Eric Waters and his wife Margaret of Lansing, England.

Predeceased by four siblings; Joyce, Kathleen, Archie, and Gillian. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
