Jeffrey E. Newkirk

Jeffrey E. Newkirk, age 63, of Whiting, NJ passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at AristaCare at Manchester, NJ. 

He was born on October 25, 1959 in Somerville, NJ.  He resided for most of his life in Flemington, NJ before moving to Carlisle, PA and later Whiting, NJ. 

He was the son of the late William Lawrence Newkirk Jr and Jean Evans Newkirk.

He went to North Hunterdon Regional High School in Annandale, NJ and Perkiomen Prep School in Pennsburg, PA. He volunteered at the Flemington Food Bank.

Jeffrey had a warm, loving heart, and an insightful sense of humor. He loved animals.  He enjoyed observing the deer, wild turkeys, squirrels, and birds that came through his yard.  He almost always had a cat.  He liked nature and going on long walks across the fields and woods. He was not concerned being out in the rain without an umbrella.

While growing up he enjoyed having his own garden and fort in his backyard.  He loved cooking, rock music and movies with carefully picked component stereo and the biggest screen.  He liked technology and found happiness in giving his family and friends over-the-top presents.  He enjoyed the community spirit, fireworks, and music at First Night Carlisle. 

Survivors include one sister; Amy Hurley.  Three nieces; Sarah Hurley, Lydia Hurley and Julia Hurley. 

All services will be private. 

Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to the ASPCA.
