Jessie M. Kenyon

Jessie M. Kenyon, age 88, of Gilbert, PA passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono in East Stroudsburg, PA surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 25, 1933 on the family farm in Lebanon, NJ.  She resided in Clinton for many years before moving to Gilbert, PA in 2000.

She was the daughter of the late William and Marion Sutton Perkins. 

Her husband, Richard ‘Dick’ D. Kenyon, passed away in December of 2012.

Jessie was a Registered Nurse and had various employers throughout her career.  She worked in Labor & Delivery at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ for numerous years, then went on to work for Dr. Pierce in Flemington.  She was a founding and integral member of the team of Visiting Nurses at the Hunterdon Medical Center.  Later, she worked at the Youth Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ until her retirement. 

Jessie enjoyed reading and gardening.  Her family was the most important thing to her, as she enjoyed genealogy and working on her family tree.

When her children were young, she was the Den Mother for their Boy Scout Troop for many years.  She also enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Stanton Reformed Church. 

Survivors include three sons; Brian Kenyon and his wife Lisa Feit of Damascus, MD, Scott Lee Kenyon and his wife Carla of Venice, FL and Patrick Kenyon of Asbury, NJ. Fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother; William ‘Billy’ Perkins and his wife Barbara of FL.

Predeceased by  her husband,  one sister; Janet Degnan and one grandchild Rachel.

All services will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
