Jiren Narendra Parikh, age 55, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.
He was born on February 9, 1967 in Ahmedabad, India. He resided in Long Valley, NJ for many years before moving to Philadelphia 20 years ago.
He was the son of Narendra and Bharti (Patel) Parikh of Long Valley, NJ.
Jiren was currently the CEO of Ghost Robotics in Philadelphia, PA. He joined Messrs. Avik De and Gavin Kenneally in late 2015 to found the company, and build agile, hardened and programmable legged robotic platforms. His career spanned over 30 years as an entrepreneur, C-level and Senior Executive. Founding, scaling and turning around technology businesses covering robotics, software, telecom, content and platform technologies. Past awards included AUVSI Defense Innovation Award, E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, NJTC Growth Company of the Year and SmartCEO Philadelphia Turnaround of the Year.
Jiren loved to ski, fly fish and mountain climb. He also loved his three dogs; Trango, Baker and Larry.
Survivors in addition to his loving parents include his wife; Michelle Alexander. Three children; Alina Parikh of VA, Milan Parikh of Brooklyn, NY and Aviana Parikh of Yardley, PA. One brother; Jigesh Parikh and his wife Jane of Califon, NJ. One nephew; Christopher Parikh.
Predeceased by one nephew; Josh Parikh who passed away in August of 2021.
Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 12pm to 4pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Family and friends will be invited to share remembrances at 3pm. Interment will be private.
