Joan E. Hoffman

Joan E. Hoffman, age 89, long-time Califon resident, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.

She was born on September 6, 1932 in High Bridge, NJ.  She spent her childhood in High Bridge, before moving to Califon, NJ. 

She was the daughter of the late George and Ruth (Lindemann) Crampton.

Her husband, Russell ‘Rusty’ Hoffman, passed away in 2013.

Joan was a Cafeteria Worker for Tewksbury Twp. Board of Education until her retirement.

Memberships include Lower Valley Presbyterian Church in Califon, NJ.

Years ago, Joan enjoyed sewing and doing cross-stitch.  She also loved to crochet and frequently gifted family members the beautiful blankets that she would create.  Joan also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and gardening.  She loved flowers.

Survivors include three sons; Mark Hoffman and his wife Jen of Holland Twp., NJ, Lloyd Hoffman and his wife Dorothy of Califon, NJ and Jeffrey Hoffman and his wife Barbara of Califon, NJ.  Eight grandchildren; Kyle, Allison, Matt, Tim, Jake, Luke, Amy and Sara.  Three great-grandchildren; Savannah, Bristol and Brayden.  She is also survived by four siblings; George Crampton, Barbara Skripko, Louis Philhower and Joyce Shaub.

Predeceased in addition to her husband by one brother; Larry Crampton and one sister; Marilyn Crampton. 

Graveside service at Lower Valley Cemetery in Califon, NJ will take place at a later date.

Services are under the direction of Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home in Lebanon, NJ.
