Joann Buckley Grmek

Joann Buckley Grmek, of High Bridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at home, with her loving husband Mike, sisters Karen and Denise, and devoted labrador, Maggie, by her side. 

Joann was kind, gifted in mathematics, and keenly perceptive.  She was able to see the good in people and she was known for her surprisingly perceptive and funny one-liners.   She was the “spiritual glue” of her family and friends who will miss her terribly.  

Joann and her family wish to thank the doctors and staff at the Oncology Department at Hunterdon Medical Center, for providing her with top-notch treatment and care. 

Calling hours will take place from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main St., High Bridge, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at St. Joseph Church, 59 Main St., High Bridge, NJ. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Cokesbury, NJ. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joann’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
