John J. “Jack” Fallon Jr.

John J. “Jack” Fallon, Jr., age 76, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.  

Jack was born in South Natick, MA, on August 20, 1944 to John J. Fallon Sr. and Margaret King Fallon. He graduated from The University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management.  He also graduated from Wentworth Institute.

Jack was married to Joyce (VanVolsen) Fallon, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage in October. They resided in Clinton, NJ, for 33 years and lived in Sanford, NC, for the past 13 years.

Jack worked for 34 years for Public Service Electric & Gas in Newark, NJ until his retirement as a Planning & Design Manager. During his working years, he was a member of several professional organizations.  

Jack enjoyed playing golf and was a member of Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford, NC.  Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.  

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include three children: John Fallon and his wife Meredith of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Vanessa Fallon Nery and her husband David of Topsham, ME, and David Fallon and his wife Katie of Flemington, NJ; seven grandchildren: Tristan Olyphant, Jack Olyphant, Teagan Olyphant, Eva Fallon, James Fallon, Anna Fallon and David Fallon; and four step-grandchildren: Andrew, Ava, Eleanor, and William Nery.

He is also survived by four siblings: James Fallon and his wife Margaret of Ocala, FL, Kathleen Mason of Acton, MA, Elizabeth Dodge and her husband Donald of Northborough, MA and Michael Fallon and his wife Gail of South Natick, MA; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by one sister, Mary Fallon, and his step-mother,Anna Fallon.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 6, 2020 from 7-9 pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 9 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 316 Old Allentown Road, Annandale, NJ.  Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale, NJ.
