John A. Kiczek Sr.

John A. Kiczek Sr., age 81, of Pittstown, NJ passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.

He was born on April 12, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ.  He spent his early years in Elizabeth, moving to Pittstown, NJ 40 years ago.

He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Genevieve Kiczek and his daughter, Robin Ehrmann who passed away in 2018.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy J. (Miezwa) Kiczek, their four children: John Kiczek Jr. and his wife Terri of Mercerville, NJ, Kim Smethers and her ex-husband Carl of Clinton, NJ, Jackie Decker and her husband Eric of Pittstown, NJ and Jennifer Janek and her husband Ron of Effort, PA.  Nine grandchildren; Denver, John, Nicole, Alyssa, Christopher, Grace, Jacob, Jeffrey and Chelsea.

John was a US Veteran serving during the Vietnam War with the National Guard.  He worked as a Carpenter and was a member of Essex County Carpenter Local 1342.  John was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Frenchtown, NJ.  John enjoyed spending time with his family at many get-togethers.  Grampa/Oompa adored his beloved grandchildren and his late dog, Sammy.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing on the boat that he built when he was eighteen years old.  

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 3pm – 7pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 11am at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, 1007 Rt. 519, Frenchtown, NJ.  Interment at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, NJ.
