John Thomas Kiddish, age 84, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.
He was born on November 2, 1938 in Hazelton, PA. He spent his childhood in Freeland, PA and later moved to Bound Brook, NJ. He graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1957. He resided in Clinton Twp., NJ for the past 57 years.
He was the son of the late James and Myrtle Roth Kiddish.
John was the beloved husband of Nancy Strasko Kiddish, celebrating 64 years together and 59 years of marriage.
John was a US Army Veteran, serving from 1961 to 1963 in Germany.
He worked at Johns Manville in Manville, NJ for 30 years and then worked in Industrial Coating for Benjamin Moore in Flanders, NJ until his retirement.
Memberships include the American Legion in Whitehouse Station, NJ and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Whitehouse Station, NJ. He was also a member of the Johns Manville Quarter Century Club.
John loved cars, especially his corvette. He enjoyed building things, gardening, wine and working outside. He was passionate about music and movies. He was a big movie buff and loved history. He was a true homebody, and he adored his family. Most of all, he loved his granddaughters and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter; Valerie Wolf and her husband Kevin of Stewartsville, NJ. Two granddaughters; Abigail Wolf and Sarah Wolf. Three siblings; James Kiddish of Jackson, NJ, Linda Gray of McAdoo, PA and David Kiddish and his companion Joanne Parello of Hillsborough, NJ. He is also survived by his sister-in-law; Florence Kiddish of South Bound Brook, NJ. Several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by one son; John Robert Kiddish who passed on July 18, 1988. Two siblings; Ronald Kiddish and Joyce Gerrone. Sister-in-law; Nancy Kiddish and brother-in-law; Carmen Gerrone.
Calling hours will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11am. All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Interment at Rural Hill Cemetery in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
