Joseph F. Stahnke

Joseph Frederick Stahnke, age 74, of Clinton Twp., NJ passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ.  

He was born on June 11, 1946 in Elizabeth, NJ.  He spent his childhood in Linden, NJ.  He has resided in Clinton Twp. for the past 34 years, moving from Dunellen, NJ.  

He was the son of the late Emma Stahnke and was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Joseph and Margaret Sparks.

Joseph was the husband of Phyllis Barbara Grant Stahnke, celebrating 47 years of marriage.

He attended Union County College and graduated from Montclair State University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.  He worked as an Accountant for Allied Beverage in Carlstadt, NJ from 1974 until his retirement in 2017.

Joseph enjoyed gardening and watching sports.  He loved lighthouses and also swimming.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife include his brother-in-law; Martin Grant and his wife Jody of Monroe Twp., NJ.  His niece; Robyn Kratz and his nephew; Russell Grant.   Several cousins.  

Calling hours will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 10am to 12pm with funeral service at 12pm.  All at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ.  Interment at 2:30pm at  Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
