Kathleen ‘Kathy’ M. Hoffman, age 76, of Tewksbury Twp., NJ passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at home with her family.
She was born on March 20, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio. She spent her childhood in Mountain Lakes, NJ and resided in Lebanon, NJ for the past 17 years. She was the daughter of the late James and Marilyn Bolger O’Malley.
She was the wife of William ‘Bill’ A. Hoffman whom which she shared a wonderful, loving partnership of 40 years.
Kathy graduated from St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She built a long, successful career as a financial advisor, and she valued the close relationships she shared with many of her clients. She retired as the Vice President of Wealth Management for Morgan Stanley in Morristown, NJ.
Kathy’s life and works were strongly influenced by her Irish catholic upbringing, strong faith, and large, close-knit family. Kathy was happiest while sharing time with her children, her brothers, nephews and nieces, and their families, which grew to include many grandnieces and nephews. Strong, capable, and intelligent, she was a pilar of her family through good times and bad, navigating troubled waters with grace, compassion, and dignity.
Kathy was a very active member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Long Valley, NJ. Throughout her life, she exemplified the catholic values she was raised with and believed in. Kathy gave far more than she took, always the first to offer help to family, friends, and strangers. She touched many people through her sincere desire to improve the lives of others, especially those who were less fortunate.
Kathy was an avid hiker, frequently hiking five miles per day near her home in Tewksbury Twp. She enjoyed hiking out west, including numerous trips to national parks in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Colorado. She also loved her family vacations in the Outer Banks and Sanibel Island, FL.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband include two children; Daniel F. Hoffman and his partner Erin Carey of Missoula, MT and William ‘Billy’ R. Hoffman of Washington, NJ. One beloved custodial grandson; Ryan Palombi of Tewksbury Twp., NJ. She is also survived by four siblings; Dr. James O’Malley and his wife Karen, Brian O’Malley and his wife Doreen, Edward O’Malley and Kevin O’Malley.
Predeceased by one brother; Frank O’Malley, and nephew, Daniel O’Malley.
Calling hours will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 3-7pm at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 265 W. Mill Road, Long Valley, NJ. Interment will be private.
