Katy was a prolific cook, regularly hosting holiday dinners for family and friends.  Food, especially dessert, was often an integral part of the Bridge gatherings as well.  She was an avid reader, enjoying Mystery dramas (in print and on TV), and her Kindle reader was never far from reach.  She loved birding, with canoe trips on the Delaware, and driving or walking at the Brigantine NJ wildlife refuge.  She loved animals and took care of several stray cats that occupied the barn on her property over many years, including 'Chessie' a beloved part-time house pet for over a decade.

Survivors include four children;  her son Michael Boyle and his partner Donata Makuta of CA;  Susan Shoemaker of NY, David Shoemaker of MA, and Paul Shoemaker of MA.  Several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
